Get to know Dr. Nester
Dr. Ashley Nester’s interest in dentistry began at an early age, and she is honored to have achieved the ability to help people through her work by providing comprehensive dental care.
Dr. Nester graduated with honors from James Madison University. She went on to be among the top of her class in earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. Dr. Nester then completed a General Practice Residency Program at the Veterans Health Administration in San Diego and subsequently served as a member of the National Health Service Corps.
As a dentist, Dr. Nester understands that patient care is more than just fixing teeth. She makes an effort to understand each patient’s unique concerns, so that she can enhance the level of care she can provide. Dr. Nester is privileged to be a partner in a patient’s journey to achieving dental health. She finds it immensely rewarding to see someone smile because they are no longer in pain, or because they feel more confident about their smile.
Dr. Nester is currently an active board member of the Junior Woman’s Club of Williamsburg, and also enjoys participating in many community dental outreach programs. She is a member of the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, as well as the American Dental Association and it’s local chapters.
Dr. Nester grew up in Chesterfield, VA, but loves living the Hampton Roads area. She is fond of the proximity to both the mountains and the water and enjoys experiencing the distinct seasons that Virginia has to offer.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Nester enjoys traveling, reading, photography and Pilates. She resides in Williamsburg with her husband and their two young daughters.
